MAJOR UPDATE: Moving Blogs!

Hey y’all,

Okay so I know I said in my last post that I launched a new blog but I would also be continuing to write on this one too. However with much thought, I have decided that it’s best to just stop writing on this blog altogether and pursue writing on my new one for quite a few reasons.

1) It’d be difficult for me to write the best I can regularly on two blogs with the little time that I have

2) I have a few projects in mind that can only be done with Wild Muse in full swing

3) I feel as if this blog doesn’t encapsulate what I want it to. I’ve grown and matured since I first began writing this blog and so I want to take that with me. Call it a fresh start if you like. I quite like my new pseudonym as it pretty much sums me up. Wild Muse. A young, wild and free spirit gaining muse from this world that we live in and the world that’s constantly in my head.

I won’t delete this blog. I want to be able to look back on what I wrote and reminisce. On Wild Muse, it’ll most certainly still have fashion and beauty related posts but will contain more than that. It’ll explore all realms concerning music, art, spiritualism, travelling and important matters that I feel should reach the mind. Check out my new blog at wildmuseofficial.wordpress.com and check out the About page. See if you like it. Give me feedback. All feedback is much appreciated.

I hope you give it a follow if you enjoy my first post on there. Thank you for supporting this blog. I have heard a lot of good feedback whilst writing on here. Much won’t be missed as my new blog is simply a more refined and constructed version of what I’ve written on here.

Thank you for your utmost support.

Love always,
Imogen x

Current March Favourites!

Bonjour mes amis!

I thought I would share with y’all what I’ve been loving this month,

DSC_0176

Yankee candles. I decided to see what all this Yankee hype is about and got myself two votive candles. The other one was in “Turquoise Sky” . Out of the two, I most definitely preferred “Midnight Jasmine”. Now I have a thing for scent; you will ALWAYS find me purchasing candles or incense sticks. It’s definitely something I grew up around and used to relax and unwind in the evenings. Also, I have a personal love for jasmine flowers. This is probably due to the fact that growing up as a child, I would linger around the wall of jasmine flowers that I used to have in my garden. Not only do the flowers itself look so fresh and pretty, but the scent is so distinct and pleasant that I always tend to always choose “jasmine” when it comes to anything fragrant. The candle itself did resemble the flowers’ scent, however whilst burning, the smell was not as strong and as pungent as I hoped it would be. In my opinion, Muji’s candles burned more strongly when it came to scent! Nonetheless, I still love burning this little one, and would not hesitate to purchase more.

Yep, and these are the famous Muji candles. I bought them in “Jasmine & Black Olive” and “Elderflower”. Pretty aren’t they? At £3.50 each, I just could not resist. They smell absolutely D I V I N E and once they finish, I am most certainly going to remove the labels and use the tins for something! I’m on Day 2 of burning and it hasn’t even passed a quarter of the way. I will be repurchasing these for sure!

To finish on the candle segment, my last two faves go to this gorgeous Indian traditional and ethnic print candle holder from Cancer Research UK and porcelain candle holder/tray from Tiger. The red candle holder costed me 50p in my local charity shop (bloody bargain or what?!) and has been serving me well when it comes to burning my candles. The candle holder from Tiger has been providing extra protection for when the candle holder gets a tad warm.

And of course I would add my first tea set to the faves list! As I was heading to Bubbleology in Soho which has become a habit every time I am near there, I stumbled across a Chinese Spa/ Meditation Herbal place a few doors to the right of Bubbleology. It caught my eye, so I decided to go in. I saw varieties of herbal teas, but then became excited as I suddenly realised that I was surrounded by tea sets. Not any old tea sets – Chinese oriental tea setsNot many people know this about me, but I love vintage and old-fashioned things as well as anything oriental. That includes tea sets and tea parties and all that good stuff. I’ve been looking for a floral tea set for years but this set really screamed “GET ME” when it was reduced from £60 to £25. The print is so pretty and dainty I just had to do it. The helpful lady in store told me that traditional Chinese people would make their tea in the tea pot, pour some in the little cup, and then pour the rest in this other jar (bottom left) to prevent the tea from going cold. They would sip their tea as they painted which is something I would end up doing as I love to paint using either acrylics or oil paints.

Now this really is a bloody brilliant fave. During London Fashion Week I passed by Topshop on Oxford Street. After trying on a few bits, I came out to see a screen with the Topshop Unique catwalk being played and a vending machine next to it. This vending machine had many packages as seen as above with different coloured circular Topshop labels on them. Turns out if you tweeted and hashtagged Topshop on Twitter, you were entitled to a package from the vending machine. I thought, well why not? So I tweeted and hashtagged Topshop, showed a member of staff next to the vending machine and took my package. In all honesty, I thought it would be sweets inside or something. I walked away but then stopped. I was just so damn curious so I opened it, and best believe my jaw dropped and my eyeballs popped out. Did I just get Topshop makeup? FOR FREE?! I had been eyeing Topshop’s lipstick in Rio Rio for AGES and to find it in the package was unbelievable. Not only that, but I’ve been itching to try a pastel coloured nail colour for spring as I have always stuck to dark colours or nude browns and pinks. Turns out that dream had been achieved considering I got this gorgeous lilac pastel polish in “Forsaken” (Look at my first picture in this post to see what it looks like on).

Overall, this month’s faves are looking awesome so far. I can’t wait to show you what else I’ll be loving in the months to come.

Much love,

Imogen x

Hello my darlings!
Yes I am here with another outfit. I’ve noticed that Britain is getting colder – and so am I. So I’ve been trying to find new ways of keeping warm this winter and this outfit I pulled together is the outcome. Camel coloured coats are not only super trendy but super versatile too. As pictured above, you can tell that I am totes’ diggin’ camel paired with a camel-toned plaid print: it’s such a good combo! The rest of the items are simply essentials. Nothing like a good ol’ gold toned casio watch, well-structured leather bag and casual old skool vans to go with yer outfit, eh? Anyway, I hope you like this one. Alexander Wang x H&M

Hey y’all,

Long time no write. I know. I apologise. My life has been a lil hectic to say the least. To sum it up, a few drastic changes have taken place and I do not regret a thing – absolutely livin la vida loca I am! Anyway, I’m back and ready to bring top quality posts as of today. So do stay tuned as I have a few ideas up my sleeve *cough* Youtube *cough*. Anywho, without further ado, let’s get on with today’s post shall we?

Thursday 6th November 2014. Alexander Wang x H&M.

Best believe I almost peed myself when I received an email from H&M, inviting me to take a sneak peek at the new collection. Ever since the announcement of this new and exciting collection, I’ve been completely and utterly ecstatic. And now it’s finally here, I am literally over the moon. Alexander Wang is hands down one of my favourite fashion designers to date. It is undeniable that he has the skill to create pieces that enable simplistic and clean cut to meet urban and edgy. By collaborating with H&M, he has given worldwide accessibility to fashion through his eyes.

His range retails from £7.99 – £199.99 including an objects collection, womenswear and menswear. I’d say there are pieces that everyone can afford and I myself, have eyed up two pieces to get. The main material used in the collection is polyester, to give off the real scuba feel that has been trending this season. There’s also Wang’s notorious athletic vibe to this collection as some pieces are tailored towards sportswear (but to be honest, it can also be rocked as casual wear).

Overall, I am positive that this will be a successful collection. I sure will be one of many getting a few pieces so do look out for a future lookbook! Below are my faves from the women’s collection.

Beauty Haul

Hey m’loves!

Today’s post is a lil’ cheeky beauty haul. I haven’t bought makeup in a long time so I took the opportunity to do so this month.

image

I know I’m late to jump on the bandwagon but at least I finally have! The Real Techniques Core Collection brushes. Now I’ve been surviving off make up brushes from Claire’s and believe me they’re decent. But these brushes are something else. They are amazing quality and the bristles are super soft! The protective dual purpose case and stand come in handy too for when I travel. I managed to get them six pounds cheaper on Amazon so they were definitely worth it! All brand new of course.

image

image

The next item is this 10 Colour Palette from BHCosmetics. I’ve been wanting a concealer palette as it would not only be handy to do other people’s makeup but to also mix up the perfect concealer and contour shade! The orange toned concealer is definitely handy to conceal dark circles so I cannot wait to try it out.

image

The last thing is Rimmel’s Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze – a must have for them Cara Delevigne peepers! The pigmentation is fabulous and it glides on the skin like a dream. I’d highly recommend this to all!

That’s all folks. But before I leave, I am going to leave you to a video I uploaded today. It’s an announcement that lasts around 30 seconds long. Enjoy 🙂 http://youtu.be/kOiFE7iyV9I

Until next time,

Spring 2014 Haul

Hello m’lovelies!

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a haul so I figured now would be the perfect time to do one since I’ve been buying a few things for the past few weeks.

image

This first piece is a gorgeous white slightly sheer jumper from Romwe. As well as being super soft, its not too thick or too thin, displaying its versatility all year round. Pastel colours would compliment this incredibly so I can’t wait to experiment! ^-^

image

The next piece is this split mocha coloured maxi skirt from Misguided. Above the side split is a lil’ bit of ruched detailing which I have been looking for quite some time now. This definitely is a summer staple especially for when you’re visiting the beach.

image

Now look how beautiful this little number is. I have been eyeing this for months now and when I discovered there was one left during the sale I immediately bought it. This gorgeous plum/ magenta satin playsuit is from Motel Rocks and I cannot stress enough how beautiful it actually is. It has a deep v plunge neckline which can either be sported with a black bandeau/crop top/vest underneath or bare skin. This would be bloody perfect during summer nights and party occasions!

image

Motel Rocks were also kind enough to send me a sample of the Charles Worthington Instant Amplifying Volume Treatment and yes – it is phenomenal as it intensifies my natural curly hair.

image

I also picked up Collection 2000’s Fast Stroke Eyeliner from Superdrug to try out. I always use L’Oréal’s carbon black Superliner. But this time I thought I should try something new. A lot of people have raved about this eyeliner so I would like to see for myself!

image

I popped into Lush yesterday to buy a few things for my best friend, mother and myself. The picture above is what I got for myself (T’eo deodorant and Twilight bathbomb). The book is their catalogue which they put in your bag or you can ask instore: the photography, articles and product list in it is amazing.

image

Here’s what they look like (Twilight on top and T’eo on the bottom). I bought T’eo following an article I read. The article was about how deodorant sprays actually burn your skin. This may be true or false but when I thought about it, I thought of it to be true. Take a look at the back of your deodorant. Read the ingredients. Can you understand most of them? I knew I couldn’t. So I wanted something natural to look after my skin. A powder based deodorant is what you should look for. T’eo crumbles a little but smells amazing so no problems so far!

image

Here’s Twilight in action. It gives a dreamy pink and blue lather which eventually turns your bathwater purple. It also has really really tiny specks of glitter which are left on your skin – they’re barely noticeably so don’t worry, you won’t end up looking like a disco ball! And the smell oh my gosh – it’s like music to my nose put it that way.

I’m probably going to get Collection 2000’s lipliner in Damson (deep purple) on Tuesday and more Lush goodies if I’m lucky but apart from that, that’s all folks! I hope you’ve taken some inspiration for your next shopping trip. Let me know what you think.

Love always,
Imogen xo
