MAJOR UPDATE: Moving Blogs!

Hey y’all,

Okay so I know I said in my last post that I launched a new blog but I would also be continuing to write on this one too. However with much thought, I have decided that it’s best to just stop writing on this blog altogether and pursue writing on my new one for quite a few reasons.

1) It’d be difficult for me to write the best I can regularly on two blogs with the little time that I have

2) I have a few projects in mind that can only be done with Wild Muse in full swing

3) I feel as if this blog doesn’t encapsulate what I want it to. I’ve grown and matured since I first began writing this blog and so I want to take that with me. Call it a fresh start if you like. I quite like my new pseudonym as it pretty much sums me up. Wild Muse. A young, wild and free spirit gaining muse from this world that we live in and the world that’s constantly in my head.

I won’t delete this blog. I want to be able to look back on what I wrote and reminisce. On Wild Muse, it’ll most certainly still have fashion and beauty related posts but will contain more than that. It’ll explore all realms concerning music, art, spiritualism, travelling and important matters that I feel should reach the mind. Check out my new blog at wildmuseofficial.wordpress.com and check out the About page. See if you like it. Give me feedback. All feedback is much appreciated.

I hope you give it a follow if you enjoy my first post on there. Thank you for supporting this blog. I have heard a lot of good feedback whilst writing on here. Much won’t be missed as my new blog is simply a more refined and constructed version of what I’ve written on here.

Thank you for your utmost support.

Love always,
Imogen x

Festive Nails & A Boho Ring!

Why hallo thurrrrr, ma big booty bitchezzzz.

It’s a quick one today, folks. The Christmas spirit has atlas arrived! I thought I’d share with you my fave hand look going on at the moment. I am currently digging bohemian style – especially jewellery! Not to mention nail polish. I loooove a good mani and my favourite colour is green. So yep, it’s a deep forest green look for me this week. And would ya look at that?! My ring matches my nails. I’m sensing a sweet matrimony right here.

Charlotte Brontë

Hi m’lovelies!

Long time no post, I know. School life is pretty new and I’m still adjusting to it and let’s just say I took this time out for a cheeky lil’ bit o’ personal development. Nonetheless, without further ado, let’s get on with today’s blog post!

Charlotte Brontë. A classic novelist. A female inspiring. A daring and challenge-minded woman. I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë recently and just watched the 2011 film rendition. My thoughts were “Holy crow, this is shamazing!”

Repressed desires, male oppression, the social status during the Victorian era, the desire to be equal, the idea of being an independent and strong-willed woman in a time where women were thought so little of.. yeah you can see why this novel is amazing. Every character was carefully crafted. Jane’s development was beautiful to watch, the Reeds wanted me to mentally shoot them, Mr Rochester played my heartstrings, Helen Burns was just beautiful, Miss Temple was gracious, Mr Brocklehurst was a pig and Bertha Mason was interesting but just bloody scary!

It’d be an honour if Charlotte Brontë was still living and writing. A true honour. But in the meantime, I think I shall get on to Wuthering Heights. Yeah I like romantic books indeed. Let me know your favourite classic novel/novel in the comments! 🙂

But until next time, au revoir! ^-^

Humans

Hello everyone,

So I had been looking over my previous blog posts recently and realised that I had gone from writing about fashion to posting my open minded thoughts. It turns out that you guys love those kind of posts more so I’m just keeping all the fashion, makeup and beauty things for my YouTube channel over at ImogenJM and I will use this blog to state my views, get your opinions and connect with the world. In fact, I believe I’ll like it more this way! So without further ado, let’s get on with today’s post.

Humans. According to my father and Google, us humans have minds that are more powerful than computers. Extraordinarily beautiful, right? But what doesn’t become beautiful, is when you witness a mind of evilness, corruption and unkindness. It’s even worse when you witness a human being from being someone perfect to being someone who brings tears to your eyes and sadness to your heart.

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and that God has put people in our lives to make us and break us. However I do sometimes wonder why? Why do I waste my energy on people just to get trampled on? I literally have one person that I care about til the ends of the Earth, and that is my best friend. I’ve begun closing myself off from people and not even talking to the people who I deem as close friends. It is terrible I must admit, but I find it easier in the sense that I’m not scared anymore. I’m not scared that people will leave as there’s no one in my life in the first place. I’ve formed this ideology to avoid getting hurt. People don’t actually acknowledge that the tiniest thing they do (which they don’t realise of course) can hurt people and it linger on their minds like a disease.

I am a bubbly, chatty and upbeat person don’t get me wrong, but I never forget my ideology. The more I look at people around me, the more I see fake friendships, fake people, bitchy people in disguise and liars. It’s disgusting, truly disgusting, to think that humans waste their time causing hatred and pain when they could be true to themselves and not climb the social ladder. It doesn’t matter if you’re “popular”, “unpopular”, rich or poor. Just be a good person, lead a good life and bring happiness to the souls around you. Now that my friends, would be an ideal world. Let me know what you think below.

Until next time,

Autumn

Autumn. Brown, copper and gold-tone leaves falling. That’s probably the only thing that can pass as “pretty”. Cold temperatures, slippery, wet weather and grim grey skies. That sums up autumn every single year for me.

I enjoy my long hot summers, which indeed is my favourite season, and then face a grim autumn and winter. My mood seems to go dark and dim like the winter skies. I absolutely hate the autumn/winter season. I hate being cold. I hate being wet. And I certainly, hate grim sights.

Even though I am rather romantic,  I do not think that standing in the rain is an appropriate nor romantic place to kiss. Do I want pneumonia? No. I just hate having to search for a glimpse of the sun and see grey skies instead. I also hate having as much as four layers of clothing on and STILL being cold. I’d rather be too hot in the summer and switch the air conditioning on.

Basically to sum it all up, I want summer back. Let me know if you do too.

Love always,

Life of Pi

Hey guys,

Yes I’ve watched the film. Yes I loved it. But no I have not read the book – not YET. Two pages in and I’m already feeling pretty ecstatic. I can tell this will be a great novel.

The beauty of books and reading is that no matter where you are, what time it is or how you are feeling, you can always escape into another world in the eyes of someone else. There’s that priceless beauty of delving in between the lines and forming a series of images in your mind. It’s like a big adventure where in one book you’re travelling through grassy meadows and bright blue skies and then with the next book, you’re looking at life in the year 2070.

I find reading incredibly therapeutic. I mean what’s better than a cup of green tea and an amazing novel whilst you’re wrapped in a blanket near the fireplace on a freezing winter night.

Before picking up a book I tend to read the first paragraph to judge whether I like it or not. If I don’t, I’ll put it back down. If I do, I’ll either buy or borrow it. Some of my favourites include classics such as Pride and Prejudice and The Secret Garden.

The point is that reading is power and power is knowledge. Reading can be fun as long as it isn’t a chore. Don’t waste minutes sitting around doing nothing. Take a book and fly away.

Love,
