MAJOR UPDATE: Moving Blogs!

Hey y’all,

Okay so I know I said in my last post that I launched a new blog but I would also be continuing to write on this one too. However with much thought, I have decided that it’s best to just stop writing on this blog altogether and pursue writing on my new one for quite a few reasons.

1) It’d be difficult for me to write the best I can regularly on two blogs with the little time that I have

2) I have a few projects in mind that can only be done with Wild Muse in full swing

3) I feel as if this blog doesn’t encapsulate what I want it to. I’ve grown and matured since I first began writing this blog and so I want to take that with me. Call it a fresh start if you like. I quite like my new pseudonym as it pretty much sums me up. Wild Muse. A young, wild and free spirit gaining muse from this world that we live in and the world that’s constantly in my head.

I won’t delete this blog. I want to be able to look back on what I wrote and reminisce. On Wild Muse, it’ll most certainly still have fashion and beauty related posts but will contain more than that. It’ll explore all realms concerning music, art, spiritualism, travelling and important matters that I feel should reach the mind. Check out my new blog at wildmuseofficial.wordpress.com and check out the About page. See if you like it. Give me feedback. All feedback is much appreciated.

I hope you give it a follow if you enjoy my first post on there. Thank you for supporting this blog. I have heard a lot of good feedback whilst writing on here. Much won’t be missed as my new blog is simply a more refined and constructed version of what I’ve written on here.

Thank you for your utmost support.

Love always,
Imogen x

Alexander McQueen Exhibition: Savage Beauty

Hey m’loves!

I know it’s been ages. I had exams and then I decided to relax for a bit by visiting friends, going out, planning all the things I want to do and preparing for the next year ahead so please do bare with me. Anyway, I don’t want to ramble so let me proceed with today’s post. Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty Exhibition held at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Wow. I have no words. Hands down THE best exhibition I have ever set foot in to be perfectly honest with you. If you can get yourself to London, I desperately urge you to head down there and see for yourself how amazing this exhibition is. It really does capture McQueen’s talent and savage authenticity that his work has. Not only that but you can see up front how he used his skills obtained from Savile Row and it is just simply out of this world. The audio played consists of classical music and dark, eerie music with McQueen’s voice echoing in the background. Video footage of his catwalks and fashion shows are continuously played. There even is the notorious Alexander McQueen x Kate Moss ethereal hologram being viewed in a dark room. Do check the video footage I took of this notorious hologram over on my YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhSvL9mI7WI

As you drop your jaw at the following pictures, notice the creativity of a man who left his name behind in the history of fashion.

Phenomenal right? Please do see it for yourself – it is SO much better in person and yes there is a discount if you are a student! For an exhibition I would have thought to have been worth about £90 I cannot believe I paid only one ninth of the price. You have been warned: if you don’t go, you will simply miss out!

See you in my next post,

Charlotte Brontë

Hi m’lovelies!

Long time no post, I know. School life is pretty new and I’m still adjusting to it and let’s just say I took this time out for a cheeky lil’ bit o’ personal development. Nonetheless, without further ado, let’s get on with today’s blog post!

Charlotte Brontë. A classic novelist. A female inspiring. A daring and challenge-minded woman. I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë recently and just watched the 2011 film rendition. My thoughts were “Holy crow, this is shamazing!”

Repressed desires, male oppression, the social status during the Victorian era, the desire to be equal, the idea of being an independent and strong-willed woman in a time where women were thought so little of.. yeah you can see why this novel is amazing. Every character was carefully crafted. Jane’s development was beautiful to watch, the Reeds wanted me to mentally shoot them, Mr Rochester played my heartstrings, Helen Burns was just beautiful, Miss Temple was gracious, Mr Brocklehurst was a pig and Bertha Mason was interesting but just bloody scary!

It’d be an honour if Charlotte Brontë was still living and writing. A true honour. But in the meantime, I think I shall get on to Wuthering Heights. Yeah I like romantic books indeed. Let me know your favourite classic novel/novel in the comments! 🙂

But until next time, au revoir! ^-^

The Notebook

Everybody, well most people, has watched the notorious movie ‘The Notebook’ whilst shortlisting it as a complete classic. On the contrary, I hadn’t watched this movie until yesterday. I’m currently suffering with a two week long exam period. After the first week, I said to myself I’d relax before the next batch of studying and exams. That’s when I remembered all my friends telling me how could I have possibly not watched the one and only ‘The Notebook’. That’s also when I decided to watch it and let me tell you now, I have shortlisted this movie as not only a classic, but my favourite. I had never been left in awe and tears with a movie before. Sometimes I’d build up with emotion and feel like I was going to cry when watching touching movies but I wouldn’t.

What got to me was the separation followed with the reunion, the death of Allie and Noah and also the intense true love. The movie reminded me of how I wanted to live my life. Despite being a mere 15 (16 in 2 weeks and 3 days!) I always dream and think about my life: where I’d want to be in a few years time, what I want to accomplish in my life, etc. I always pictured myself living in a vintage white mansion by the river in the countryside with a painting room and that’s exactly what Allie and Noah had.

On the topic of love, I’ve always been a hopeless romantic wishing for Prince Charming to arrive sooner. But that gets difficult with the modern world nowadays. I feel as if I was born in the wrong generation half the time. I’m modern but more traditional kind of girl. It seems as if most of this current generation care for lust over love. Don’t get me wrong, I mean sex is important to me and all. I envision it at the unity of two lovers but I don’t want to give my virginity to the wrong guy, especially when I cannot tell if guys are the right one or not.

This movie portrays my kind of love. Eternal, blissful, irrevocable and inseperable. Noah is also an ideal man. He appreciates the essence of life with the little amount of money he has. It shows how money consumes us all. We don’t need money to be happy. A pair of  Topshop shorts would make me happy but I would feel a little more happier travelling the world to see the most beautiful things, whilst meeting new people. After all, it is the littlest things that count.

In conclusion to my little essay, I think the right one will come along one day. For you, for me, for all of us. It’s just a matter of time. And if you haven’t seen ‘The Notebook’ yet, please do. It is worth the one and a half hours of your time. Until the next post, take care.

First Post!

Hello all,

I must admit I am a little excited to be starting a fresh new blog. I haven’t been consistent with blogging in the past. I’d make a blog, post for a few months and then abandon it. However I am determined to stick to this one. Be expected to find posts on fashion, photography, music, life and more. 🙂
